Kaynemaile was established in 2006 after Kayne Horsham successfully developed a liquid state assembly process to develop lightweight chainmail — a world first — taking chainmail out of the Iron Age and into the 21st century world of modern science. Kaynemaile mesh is now used to beautify and protect interior and exterior environments globally and being recognised by major players in the material development and architectural world.

The NYCxDESIGN Awards is a global design competition celebrating outstanding achievement across major areas of design—from architecture to interiors, products, craft and technology. Kaynemaile was awarded Best Architectural Product at the 2017 NYCxDesign awards.
Australia’s leading design and architecture event, DesignEX presents the best in contemporary and classic designs and innovations in architecture. Kaynemaile was awarded Best New Innovative Product at DesignEX in Sydney in 2014.
iF Material Award
The iF DESIGN AWARD is recognized as a symbol of design excellence around the world and welcomes over 5,000 submissions from 70 countries every year. Kaynemaile was awarded the iF Material Award in 2007.
The Designpreis Halle awards celebrate excellence in design from Halle, Germany. Kaynemaile was nominated for this prestigious award in 2008.
New Zealand Innovation Awards
The New Zealand Innovation Awards give smart, innovative NZ individuals and businesses a platform to be recognised and celebrated. Kaynemaile was Highly Commended for the Innovators Award in 2014.
Plastics New Zealand Awards
The New Zealand Plastics Industry Design Awards celebrate excellence and innovation within the New Zealand Plastics industry. Kaynemaile won the Gold Award for Building Material in 2008.
